I consider this the sweet spot for the soft center, chewy edge, and rich chocolate flavor I baked into the batch.
Classic chocolate chip cookies made with real sourdough.
I bake these fresh in small batches in Albuquerque, with a soft chewy texture, rich chocolate, and subtle sourdough character for sharing, gifting, dessert tables, family treats, and the kind of sweet bite that disappears fast.
These are the cookies I bake for the people around my table.
I make these in small batches so the centers stay soft, the edges have that good cookie bite, and the chocolate gets to be the loud part. The sourdough adds depth without taking away the classic chocolate chip feeling everyone came for.
The Wednesday preorder cutoff gives me time to bake each 12-count fresh for Saturday pickup. If I have extra boxes after the preorder bake, I’ll bring them to the Saturday Bread Cart while supplies last.

How long will these stay good?
I bake these real bakery cookies fresh for the preorder pickup—not a shelf-stable snack designed to sit around indefinitely. For the best soft center, chewy edge, and chocolate flavor, I recommend enjoying them in the first 3–5 days, then freezing anything you will not finish while they still taste fresh.
I seal the cookies well and freeze what I will not eat soon. Thaw at room temperature or warm only what you need.
I would warm older cookies before serving, but they will not eat like the fresh batch. Mold or an off smell means discard them.
My move: enjoy one warm, share the box, and freeze the extras before the last cookie turns into a very expensive paperweight.
This is a best-quality guide, not a universal expiration date. Do not taste-test questionable food.
